Account Executive (AE)
Closes deals and meets with prospects.
Also known as closers, Account Executives are responsible for meeting with qualified leads and closing deals. Leads come from development reps (SDRs), inbound (marketing), referrals and more, and it's the AE's job to push these deals through the sales pipeline and close as many as possible.
Typically once a sale is made, AEs handoff the post-sale process to a rep responsible for account management or customer success.
Some type of Account Executive or “closer” is required in nearly all sales organizations.
