Sales manager
Responsible for managing sales teams.
The sales manager role has many responsibilities, such as:
-Manage day-to-day sales operations to maximize performance and reach KPI’s
-Develop reps’ skills through routine coaching and training
-Communicate feedback and directives between sales reps and middle management
-Accompany reps on important sales calls and help close large deals
While sales managers are seen by reps as the authority figure (and they are), this is not a sales strategy role. They’re simply responsible for executing on the strategies and directives handed down to them.
Sales managers are always helpful, but small teams can use executives or co-founders to help with sales management tasks and coaching. It’s necessary to hire a dedicated sales manager once pipeline review meetings and call review is too much time for them to commit to.
