A sales-qualified lead (SQL) is a lead that’s been qualified by your sales team as an opportunity that meets your qualifying criteria, and therefore has a good chance of converting into a paid customer.
SQLs originate from a marketing-qualified lead (MQL) if coming from inbound, but if it’s an outbound lead, SQL is typically the first step towards becoming a customer.
